Uriel Keller, CEO of PLANETech: "Today we are presenting the forefront of technological innovation that is already helping to deal with the climate crisis worldwide. The companies that will present at the UN Climate Conference in Sharm el-Sheikh will help position Israel as a global leader in the field of climate-tech, and will be an inspiration for entrepreneurs interested in establishing companies in the most significant and growing field in high-tech. The climate-tech field in Israel has become the hottest topic in high-tech in the past year, sweeping many entrepreneurs and investors after it, even those who do not come from the climate field. In a report we published a few days ago, we reported that 1 in 7 startups established in 2021 is from the climate-tech field, and that in the same year, total investments in companies in the field reached a record of $2.5 billion."
Dror Bin, CEO of the Innovation Authority: "The ten startups that we presented today as part of the official climate-tech delegation of the State of Israel to the UN Climate Conference are, above all, a source of great pride. The ten winners, each a trailblazer in their field, testify more than anything to Israel's leadership potential in the climate-tech field. The potential exists but its realization is not guaranteed: we have the duty to continue investing in the Israeli climate innovation industry and to give companies from a variety of disciplines everything they need in order to advance, develop and implement the products they have developed and even open markets for them all over the world in order to ensure their success."
Orit Farkash HaCohen, Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology: "The way to deal with climate challenges and to meet the goals set by the government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is through the use of technology and by harnessing Israeli entrepreneurship, innovation and high-tech to combat climate change. 10 Israeli companies that deal in climate technologies accompanied the delegation - pioneering and inspiring companies. We took important steps in promoting technologies climate in Israel, and I am very happy that in the short time we were given we were able to do so much, and in cooperation"
Galit Cohen, Director General of the Ministry of Environmental Protection: "Dealing with the climate crisis requires thinking outside the box, and therefore it is only natural that the State of Israel, known as the startup nation, would present innovative solutions and technologies to deal with the climate crisis. We are pleased with the connection we were able to make here between business entities, venture capital funds and the government. Combining the forces of all bodies will lead to finding new technologies that will bring the State of Israel to net zero emissions by 2050, as it already pledged at the previous climate conference."
