The shape of galaxies

The image shows the most distant galaxy ever discovered by the Hubble Space Telescope's Deep Space Survey System. The field of view of the survey includes tens of thousands of galaxies throughout all time. The distant galaxy GN-z11 appears to us as it was 400 million years after the Big Bang, 3% of its current age. Credit: NASA, ESA, and P. Oesch (Yale University)
